so i leave today to go to ness creek. yay! i don't have anyone going with me, but that's all right. i'll make it up there just fine. i just feel bad about the whole environment thing, but if i'm going to do the race on sunday, i need my/maura's car up there. i'm excited for this weekend, all of a sudden. i'm pretty much packed and ready to go. i just have to do dishes. i have my groceries and cds all picked out. it'll be so much fun.

i asked the caldwell's for my vacation pay - i suppose we'll see how that ends up. i'm a little scared, but i'm sure it'll all work out. they can't fire me for knowing my rights! workers unite! oh yeah, i found this great community of nanny's on lj. everyone talks about their experiences with their bosses (ie. momboss and dadboss) and the kids. it's so great. it's funny, but i feel like i have a bit of support from people who understand the intricacies of being a nanny and all the crazy things that go along with it - including getting paid correctly, reimbursed for stuff, and dealing with parents. they/we think that our position title should be changed to life assistant! hahaha...so true!

i'm also excited about getting my shit together to go. it's scary and exciting all at the same time to have made a decision, but if i didn't make a decision now, i wouldn't and then i would just be defaulting and i hate defaulting. it's better to be proactive. plus, if i hate it, i can always come back home. there is nothing stopping me from doing that, but the other way around would be much more difficult. so, that's where i'm at right now.

i have a little date tonight for supper. well, it's more of a first meet-and-greet, but i'm excited nonetheless. his name's rob, he's into computer science and he's from b.c. he was raised vegetarian and seems really cool. really really cool. we'll see how that goes.

also, i have an eye infection and that's kinda bugging me. i've been putting these polysporin eye drops in them and it seems to be clearing up. it doesn't itch or anything, it's just a little red with some puss in it this morning. so i'm wearing my glasses right now. i'll probably wear my contacts tonight, though. i don't like driving with my glasses because the prescription isn't as strong as my contacts.

anywho, this'll be my last post for a few days as i go to the land of no internet!!! woohooooo! ness creek here i come!
